The New York Times commissioned photographer Alex Hodor-Lee to capture the people, spirit, and creative ecosystem surrounding Sky High Farm — a mission-driven brand and nonprofit dedicated to advancing food justice. Founded on the belief that access to fresh food is a human right, the farm challenges traditional wealth hierarchies by redirecting resources from the fashion world back into community care.
Through his lens, Alex spent a day documenting life on the farm and another intimately portraying the artists and muses who embody its ethos — blurring the lines between activism, art, and style. The resulting portraits reveal the humanity at the heart of Sky High Farm’s mission: a fusion of culture, creativity, and collective responsibility that defines a new generation of changemakers.
